BOOM Music Inc., a middleware technology company based in Santa Monica, California was founded in 2007 by a team of successful videogame and music executives who identified the need for a revolutionary gaming/music product.

Our seasoned technology and development groups’ experience come from recognized digital media, gaming and music companies such as Massive, Yahoo, Helio, Climax Studios and Sony-BMG.

The BOOM Management Team:

Jon Middleton – CEO/Founder

Prior to joining Boom Mr. Middleton served as Vice President Business Development for Mad Catz Interactive. While at Mad Catz, Mr. Middleton led all software publishing and licensing securing many top-tier licensing partnerships including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Marvel, Disney, Warner Brothers, Microsoft and Apple. Prior to joining Mad Catz, Mr. Middleton previously served as Vice President of Business Development at Massive Incorporated, the world’s first in-game advertising network. Mr. Middleton was also founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eight Cylinders, Inc., a videogame developer and broadband tools designer which was acquired by On2 Technologies (AMEX: ONT) in 2000. At On2 Technologies, Mr. Middleton led all international business development. Prior to founding Eight Cylinders, Mr. Middleton led business development and game publishing activities for Pulse Entertainment, a PC games publisher. Mr. Middleton graduated from Boston College.

John Schenk – CFO

Mr. Schenk has over 20 years of financial, strategic and operational experience working for technology and entertainment companies. Before joining Boom, Mr. Schenk was VP Finance & Controller for Adapt Technologies, a search engine marketing solution for advertisers. Prior to Adapt, Mr. Schenk was VP Finance for DreamWorks’ Home Entertainment division and Director of Finance for Tickets.com. Before joining Tickets.com, Mr. Schenk was VP of Strategic Development at Live365, where he helped secure content licensing and distribution for an Internet radio service. He also held significant financial management roles at Sony Music and BMG Entertainment over the span of a decade. Mr. Schenk received his BA from Indiana University and his MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.

Franck DeGirolami – VP of Development

Mr. De Girolami started his career in 1991 at Infogrames/ATARI in Lyon, France as a programmer on the groundbreaking Alone in the Dark game. In 1993, Mr. De Girolami became the Director of Development of Xatrix/Gray Matter in CA where he produced one of the early CD-ROM era hits: Cyberia. After years of consulting, he co-founded Eight Cylinder Studios and designed one of the first Direct3D-based technologies for the Web which was later sold to On2.com (AMEX:ONT).

Pierre Schiro – VP of Technology

Prior to joining Boom Music, Mr Schiro served as Senior Manager, Software Systems Development at Yahoo! Music / Launch.com, responsible for developing the Launch.com web platform and leading the LAUNCHcast player and Yahoo Music Jukebox web services team. Prior to Yahoo!, Mr Schiro worked in the game industry starting his career at Infogrames/Atari. In addition to Atari, Mr. Schiro has worked for Xatrix/Gray Matter as Lead Programmer on the early CD-ROM era hits Cyberia and Mango Grits as Lead Programmer on Barrage, a real time 3D action game . Mr Schiro graduated from the "Institut Universitaire de Technology" in Villeurbanne (France) with a degree in Computer Science.

JT Katzman – Director of Products and Services

JT began working with Music Technology in 1997 by leading the artist-specific e-commerce initiative for ARTISTdirect.com. While at ARTISTdirect.com JT assumed the role of Director of New Ventures and managed the creation of a subscription music service in 2000, going on to create and implement a new method for browsing large catalogs of music and music related information for ARTISTdirect’s consumer website. JT joined Yahoo! Music in 2003 to manage and expand their Artist Clubs product, working with the Eagles, Dixie Chicks and Enrique Iglesias among others. Most recently, JT designed and launched a mobile music download service for Helio, a new wireless carrier in the US.

Laura Goldberg – Advisor

Laura has a strong background in media entertainment and finance operations. She was COO of Napster (NASDAQ: NAPS) overseeing product development, technology and marketing of that $120mm business. Prior to that Laura was the SVP of Operations and Marketing at pressplay one of the original digital subscription businesses. Laura also worked in the hedge fund industry at Avenue Capital Management and in Principal Trading at Credit Suisse First Boston. She holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Industrial Management (with Honors) from Carnegie Mellon.

Mitch Davis – Director

Named as one of the most influential people in the video game industry by the Wall Street Journal in 2006, Mitch Davis is a digital media pioneer with a long record of entrepreneurial success. As founder, chairman, and CEO of Massive Incorporated, Mr. Davis sparked a revolution in the video game industry with the introduction of the world’s first and largest in-game advertising network, which unlocked new revenue opportunities for publishers while delivering global reach and targeted, high-value impressions for advertisers. At the time of its sale to Microsoft in 2006, Massive’s exclusive network served more than 80 blue chip advertisers including Coke, Toyota, and every Hollywood studio, and served ads in top-selling titles from 40 publishers including EA, Activision, THQ, Take 2, Sony Online Entertainment, Disney, and Vivendi Universal Games. Over the course of his career, Davis has worked with over 73 video games from 40 different developers across multiple genres. Other entrepreneurial successes include co-founding Digital Rights, subsequently acquired by Liberty One; as well as co-founding Parcelhouse, an international middleware software developer with clients including FedEx, DHL, and IKEA. During his tenure as Senior Vice President of Encyclopedia Britannica, Davis had P&L responsibility for the Britannica.com and CD Rom business units.

Jay Berman – Director

Jay Berman successfully led the fight for passage of the Audio Home Recording Act of 1995, the Digital Performance Right in Sound Recordings Act of 1995, helped author the Special 301 provisions in U.S. trade law, and was instrumental in defending the recording industry from censorship attacks in both Congress and state legislatures. Billboard, the industry bible, described Berman as “a master lobbyist” and is “widely credited with raising the profile of the industry around the world.

First as President and Chief Executive Officer and then Chairman of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and then with the industry’s international association, International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), in London, Berman oversaw the fight to extend copyright protection in international markets for the first time. He also led the campaign against piracy in Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Berman authored special provisions in U.S. trade policy which led to the incorporation of intellectual property protection. In 1996, President Bill Clinton appointed Berman to serve on the Commission on United States-Pacific Trade and Investment Policy. In addition, Berman served as a member of the U.S. Trade Representative’s Service Policy Advisory Committee. His trade related activities culminated in 1997 when President Clinton appointed him as Special Counselor for Trade.
